Acrobits Softphone Instructions

This will guide you through the general steps to install and configure the Acrobits Softphone app on your device.
Please note that specific steps may slightly vary depending on your device's operating system (iOS or Android) and any updates to the application or operating systems

 

Installation

For iOS Devices:

  1. **Open the App Store** on your iOS device.
  2. Tap on the **Search** tab at the bottom.
  3. Type **Acrobits Softphone** in the search bar and press **Search**.
  4. Look for the Acrobits Softphone in the search results and tap **Get** next to the app, then confirm the installation using your Apple ID or Touch/Face ID when prompted.

For Android Devices:

  1. **Open the Google Play Store** on your Android device.
  2. Tap on the **Search** bar at the top.
  3. Type **Acrobits Softphone** and press **Enter**.
  4. Choose the Acrobits Softphone from the search results and tap **Install**.

Configuration

 

After installation, you need to configure Acrobits Softphone with your SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) account details provided by your VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) service provider or your company's IT department.

You'll need the following information, usually provided by your VoIP service:

  • **SIP Username**: Your user ID for the VoIP service.
  • **Password**: The password for your SIP account.
  • **Domain**: Server address or domain of your VoIP provider.

 

  1. **Open the Acrobits Softphone** app on your device.
  2. Allow any permissions, for example, notifications.
  3. On the first launch, you may be greeted with a tutorial or welcome guide. Go through it or skip it if you prefer.
  4. To add a SIP account, tap on **Settings** or look for a **'+'** or **'Add Account'** option from the app's main menu.
  5. Choose **New SIP Account**, or it may directly take you to the **New SIP Account** setup page depending on the version of the app.
  6. Enter these details in the corresponding fields. There may be additional options like **Caller ID**, **Voicemail Number**, etc., that you can configure if your VoIP provider has given you this information. 
    1. ("Title" can be anything you like)
  7. Once details have been enter, go back to the main screen, and you should see your "Title" you entered above at the top left of your screen in green.

 

Additional Configuration

 

**Push Notifications for Calls**: Ensure that push notifications are enabled in the app and your device's settings so you can receive calls even when the app is not actively running.

  1. Click on Settings, and under Notifications, it should say "Incoming Calls" with "Push Notifications" underneath. If not, please adjust

- **Backgrounding Tips**: Please click into this section, and follow any instructions for Battery Optimisation and Battery Saver.
